Dew Drops Scarf Knitting Workshop

Create a lightweight, beautifully textured scarf while building your confidence with lace knitting. The Dew Drops Scarf is worked from one tip to the other, giving you the opportunity to practice the patterning as the shape develops.

Over two class sessions, we will guide you through the construction of the scarf and help you work through the lace and eyelet pattern. You’ll learn how to read the pattern, follow the stitch sequence, and use both written instructions and a chart as you become comfortable with the design.

The finished scarf measures approximately 58¾” long by 15” wide and can be adjusted in size, making it a flexible project for your chosen yarn and the amount of yardage available.

Experience Level

Intermediate

Students should be comfortable with basic knitting and ready to work with lace and eyelet patterning. Familiarity with reading knitting patterns is recommended. The pattern includes both written and charted instructions, so we will help you navigate the format used for the project.

What You’ll Learn

Materials Needed

• Dew Drops Scarf pattern by Lisa Hannes. The pattern is available for purchase on Ravelry.
• Approximately 363 yards of fingering-weight yarn. The sample uses a single 100 g skein, with approximately 363 yards used. The pattern can be adapted for different yarn weights and yardages. (Ravelry (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dew-drops-scarf-2))
• US 4 (3.5 mm) knitting needles, or the size needed to obtain the pattern gauge
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch markers

The pattern gauge is 24 stitches and 36 rows = 4” in the eyelet pattern after light blocking. Gauge is not critical for this project, but differences will affect the amount of yarn needed and the finished size.

Yarn must be purchased at the Knitting Lounge and students receive 10% yarn for the workshop. Please have your yarn purchased and ready before the first class.
